RIYADH: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has ramped up its operational efforts to serve pilgrims, Umrah performers, and worshippers in the lead-up to the Hajj season, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Between the 19th and 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH, the authority implemented an intensified service plan aimed at ensuring comfort and ease for visitors to the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

As part of its preparations, the authority used 5,589 liters of perfumes and 7,829 grams of incense to enhance the spiritual atmosphere within the Two Holy Mosques. Additionally, more than 6,979 cubic meters of Zamzam water were consumed, 202,200 bottled Zamzam water units were distributed, and over 28 million drinking cups were used.

In support of fasting worshippers, 338,092 iftar meals were provided during the period, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to generosity and hospitality toward pilgrims.

The authority also removed 787 tons of waste through a continuous 24-hour cleaning operation to maintain a clean and safe environment for religious observance.
